Velaa Private Island

Surrounded by lush jungle foliage in the middle of the island, Eveylaa Wellbeing offers traditional healing of Ayurveda with Eastern medicine and holistic treatments. The word Eveylaa means “Ancient” in the local language, and refers to the treatments offered at Eveylaa Wellbeing. The facility includes two couples’ treatment rooms, one featuring Ayurveda beds, Shirodhara stands and traditional steam boxes, while the other treatment room is geared toward Osteopathy, with a European style steam room, modern treatment beds and a floating pod. Eveylaa Wellbeing has a dedicated Ayurvedic doctor as well as visiting international Osteopaths representing the full spectrum of ancient holistic healing.

The wellness restaurant named Faiy Restaurant is the culinary aspect of the Velaa Wellbeing Village. Set as an oasis in the tropical garden of the island, the restaurant serves healthy, light and colourful dishes overlooking the greens of the Velaa Golf Academy by Olazabal. Formulated by a holistic and healthy approach to living and using the highest quality ingredients, this wellness inspired menu is taken to the next level offering real, clean and unprocessed whole foods that are as close to their natural state as possible.

WATERSPORTS

Located in the untouched Noonu Atoll where divers will discover unexplored dive sites, Velaa is surrounded by some of the most amazing marine life that the Maldives has to offer. Velaa Dive Center uses all the latest Scubapro equipment which is renowned for its outstanding quality. Affiliated with PADI, the largest dive association in the world, Velaa offers courses from the Bubblemaker for younger guests to the professional level of Divemaster for the more experienced divers. Guests can snorkel and enjoy the house reef at leisure and also explore some of the most untouched snorkel sites, which are a short boat ride away and reachable in 15 to 20 minutes.

DIVING AND SNORKELLING

Velaa Golf Academy by Olazábal is a unique golfing experience that stretches over nine holes but offers numerous combinations. The golf course is designed by José María Olazábal, renowned for his short game mastery, and managed by Troon, the leader in upscale golf course management. Velaa boasts a studio offering one-on-one tuition with PGA professionals. The academy also holds swing analysis software with the latest technology and is equipped with a state-of-the-art Trackman simulator to enhance the golfing experience. A putting green and tailor-made tuition programmes make the Velaa Golf Academy an experience for the whole family to enjoy.

GOLF ACADEMY

Sports facilities extend to one of the only completely covered tennis court in the Maldives, perfect for a game even during the hottest of days, as well as a squash court, table tennis, a climbing wall, beach volleyball and a football pitch. Velaa Private Island also offers a worldclass gym featuring the latest 'Technogym' fitness equipment. Guests can also receive personal yoga master and meditation sessions held on an elevated Yoga Pavilion with beautiful views over the golf academy, in the garden or on the beach, and one-on-one pilates classes in the new Pilates Studio.

LAND SPORTS

CORAL RESTORATION PROGRAMME

In order to ensure the natural underwater beauty for future generations, Velaa Private Island has a dedicated marine team currently working on the biggest coral restoration programme in the Maldives.

Guests can snorkel or scuba with the resident marine biologist who share their knowledge and expertise on the daily responsibilities of marine conservation in the foundation, which is recognised around

the world.

Guests also have the opportunity to adopt an individual coral line to add to Velaa’s intrinsic rainforest of corals. They will be awarded with a coral adoption certificate along with biannual updates of the coral development.

MARINE CONSERVATION

An innovative concept of pure enjoyment, the LHA Velaa Kids Club boasts the most extensive kids' water park in the Maldives which was designed and based on the inspiration of the owner’s daughter. Little guests can enjoy many exciting activities, from playing Maldivian baseball and Koraa (Maldivian hopscotch), to taking part in a neon disco, pizza making or an island treasure hunt.

Creative activities like coral painting, mask making and learning about local sea life with a marine biologist are all part of the incredible Kids Club experience. From the moment they are met at the jetty, children receive a personal invitation to the kids’ club, where their caregiver remains the same throughout their holiday, providing continuity and consistency.
